Purchasing this tree grants you one (1) real tree to decorate within the rules listed below. Trees will be placed in a stand and staked for extra stability in the yard of First Presbyterian Church (3080 Main St. Caledonia NY). Your payment indicates that you've read and agreed to all the rules listed.
1. Eligibility
Open to all local residents, businesses, or groups.
Participants must register in advance and agree to these rules.
Submit your payment of $50 to secure your tree and agree to these rules.
Each participant is responsible for their own decorations, materials, and setup/removal.
2. Tree Assignment & Property Access
Trees will be assigned by organizers.
No decorating outside of your assigned tree.
3. Decorating Rules
Only non-damaging, weather-safe materials may be used.
Decorations must be wind- and rain/snow-resistant and securely fastened.
Decorations must be free of adult themes or political messages. The organizers have the right to ask for the removal of any decoration deemed necessary. If refused, decorations will be removed, and the participant will be refunded and banned from future participation.
No open flames (candles, lanterns, etc.).
Lights must be solar-operated or battery-operated.
4. Setup & Removal
Decorating period: 11/24/25 to 12/4/25.
Decorations must be removed by 1/3/26.
Participants are responsible for cleanup; failure to remove decorations may result in future ineligibility.
5. Judging & Prizes
All community members are invited to vote on 12/6/25.
Winner announced at the Tree Lighting in Monument Park on 12/6/25.
6. Safety & Liability
Participants assume all responsibility for personal safety and property damage during decorating, display, and removal.
Hometown Holidays, Caledonia First Presbyterian Church, and Adventures & Art are not responsible for injuries, damage, or lost items.
Participants agree to:
Follow all posted safety and public-space regulations.
Supervise children at all times.
Avoid obstructing sidewalks, driveways, or emergency access.
7. Weather & Emergencies
In case of severe weather, organizers may delay or cancel decorating or judging.
Participants must secure or remove decorations if high winds or storms are forecast.
8. Your payment indicates that you sign and accept:
“I understand and accept all risks associated with participation in the Trim the Town Tree Decorating Contest. I agree to hold harmless and indemnify Hometown Holidays, First Presbyterian Church, and Adventures & Art from any claims, damages, or liability arising from my participation.”
